Physics 21 Reading List #9

Finally the last assignment! We've enjoyed having all of you in our lab. Don't forget to turn in your course evaluations: in the past, this lab has benefited greatly from such feedback. I would also welcome your direct comments about the assignments, the software and hardware environment in the lab, the TAs, me, and whatever else you want. - A short handout on Load Balancing and Termination Detection in parallel applications, from B. Wilkinson and M. Allen, Parallel Programming (2nd ed., Prentice Hall, Upper Saddle River NJ, 2004). Also, a copy of the book is in the lab.

- The original Wator (then Wa-Tor) article by A. K. Dewdney (Scientific American, December 1984), given as a handout in the lab.

- The Wikipedia about the Lotka-Volterra equations.

- Larry Leinweber has a decent Java Wator applet.

- An OpenGL based Wator screen saver with information about the algorithm.
