This week, I am giving you readings about N-body simulations (and especially about dense stellar systems and the GRAPE computers), and about efficiency in MPI (and especially about persistent communication).

- Read (quickly) Secs. 1-3 of J. Makino et al., A 1.349 Tflops simulation of black holes in a galactic center on GRAPE-6. See also the Grape Project.
- Browse the tutorial on MPI Performance Topics; read the section on persistent communication.
