A few readings relevant to the assignment due at the end of this week.
- A FAQ about cryptography at the RSA Laboratories. Read Secs. 1.2-2.1.4 (an introduction), 2.3.1-2.3.3 (on "hard" problems), 2.4.1-2.4.3 (on cryptanalysis), 3.2.1-3.2.3 (on DES).
- About Beowulf clusters: What makes a cluster a Beowulf? and A history of Beowulf systems (this webpage is corrupted toward its end, but what you can read is information enough for our purposes), on www.beowulf.org.
- Also, Robert Brown has a very exhaustive discussion of the creation, care, and feeding of Beowulf clusters. Browse it and read what strikes your whim.
